Get ready to experience the next generation of technology.
An iSpace, Inc. initiative, Discovery Spot is a technology playground and project center in which students of any age can experience cutting edge technology, participate in any of our hands on activities, or develop their own projects with the help of our friendly and knowledgeable instructors, tools, and resources. We offer group camps and group activities to allow students to immerse themselves in all things STEM, as well as individual activities and use of lab equipment for students to continue their passions. Content is developed by subject matter experts at the University of West Florida, whereas iSpace provides software development expertise and financial support.
Discovery Spot differentiates itself from the typical STEM Camp though its variety and breadth of technologies, its incorporation of industry ready skills, as well as coordinating development and participant interaction with professors at the University of West Florida and software expertise provided by iSpace Inc. Each activity is developed in accordance with current academic research, but is also planned and executed to be the most interesting and impactful for the students who learn from it.

Our activities and locations are designed to be inviting, exciting and inspirational. All of our content is designed and developed at the University of West Florida, in Pensacola USA, by Professors and technology experts from iSpace Inc. We put all of our activities through numerous tests with students to make sure that they are as exciting and immersive as possible.
"A technology playground, inspiring students of all ages to explore, innovate and grow."
IoT: Smart Park
Students will use humidity and light sensors to trigger motors, lights and other actuators to make a part usable rain or shine. View the video
IoT: Smart Parking Lot
Using MicroBits, students will create a parking spot sensor that will alert drivers when a spot is open or not.
Data Analytics
Students will use Tableau and other data packages to make charts, graphs and explore big data.

IoT: Smart Farming
Students will use water and light sensors to receive alerts for when plants need to be watered.
IoT: Smart Traffic Light
Using Ultrasonics, students will build an intelligent traffic light system to help drivers navigate their smart city.
Makey Makey
Makey Makey uses basic electronic circuits, created from household objects like potatoes, paper clips and even your hand to control online games.
Robotics Hardware
Students explore components like resistors, LEDs, motors, and ultrasonic sensors and use them to build an Arduino Robot.
Robot Software
Robot Software explores how to use programing fundamentals to create a line tracking robot using the sensors discussed in the robot hardware course.
Intro To 3D Game Development
Students create a 3D cube runner game in which they control a cube through levels they design using controls that they program.
3D Modeling
Students learn about 3D modeling using blender to create art assets for videogames, how to import them into game environments and assign them behaviors.
AI for 3D Gaming
Expanding upon the introduction to 3d gaming, this activity uses the models created by the students to build an intelligent alien game.
Laser Communications
Students work with lasers, fiber optics, holograms and more to discovery light through a physics perspective. View the video
Discovery Spot provides multiple ways to explore our catalog of activities and technologies. Students can enroll in summer camps, after school programs, or come by for independent use of the lab.
We're here to expand our student's minds to the joys of science and technology. If any students would like to participate in any other way, we will work with you to create the best Discovery Spot sessions for you.
During the summer, we offer a variety of themed and exploratory summer camps that allow students to discover the technologies that interest them, meet new people, and have fun.
Single topic mini-camps are taught throughout the year after school for groups of 3-5 students, you can register here.
Our labs are here for you! Come in at any time to take a self-guided activity, or to use our technology to work on your own projects.
